Journey to Machu Picchu in the footsteps of the Inca Empire, climb to the summit of Cotopaxi using crampons and mittens, explore the Amazon rainforest, discover amazing wildlife, learn Spanish, meet new communities, find ancient cultures, and have more adventure in six weeks than most have in a lifetime!
This true South American adventure spans two countries, travels over high snow capped mountain peaks, wades through deep rainforests, explores ancient ruins, and encounters a plethora of wildlife, to take you on the journey of a lifetime. Beginning our adventure with 30 hours of Spanish lessons will provide us with a useful and interesting introduction to South America, before we visit the breath-taking architectural Peruvian wonder Machu Picchu ('Lost City of the Incas'). Crossing the border into Ecuador we will then be led by qualified guides deep into the Amazon rainforest where we will travel by canoes and on foot, learning about the rainforest’s ecology, flora, fauna, medicinal properties, and other secrets. Heading to the long considered highest active volcano in the world, Cotopaxi, we will then make a summit attempt on the ice-capped beauty before descending to a celebratory party with some unusual awards! This action adventure packs a range of exciting experiences and amazing adrenaline rushing activities into six weeks, providing the kind of unique life changing experience only Yomps specialise in!
